Peter Gerdsen, born in Bredstedt in 1936, is a German scholar. Peter Gerdsen's thinking converges two scientific cultures: the natural and engineering sciences and the humanities, which also encompass areas of modern theology.
Peter Gerdsen's work in the humanities is driven by the desire to initiate a cross-border dialogue between cultures, religions and also between scientific disciplines.
Peter Gerdsen is concerned with the realization of dialogic international understanding on a broad level. He sees this as the possibility of cross-border coexistence between cultures and religions that can complement each other through dialogue and enlighten each other.
