About the Foundation

Tasks of the Foundation

The tasks of the Foundation are realized in particular through

  • the publication of the founder's works

  • the translation of the founder's works

  • the dissemination of the founder's ideas (see §1)

  • the publication of a journal ›Yearbook of Thought – Journal of German Culture‹

  • the close cooperation and integration with the ›Institute for the Promotion of Interculturality‹

  • the promotion of Christian-German culture

  • the promotion of interculturality and interreligiosity

The foundation's mission is to make a theoretical and practical contribution to peaceful and open coexistence between people and cultures. To achieve its mission, conferences and seminars are held and relevant projects at universities are initiated to further the founder's research.

Donations, sponsorship, endowments

According to the decision of the Trier tax office, file number 42/661/10260 KII /3 dated February 11, 2016, the Peter Gerdsen Foundation promotes science, research and culture, is recognized as a non-profit organization and is authorized to issue donation receipts for donations made to it for these purposes.

The Board is always willing to hold explanatory discussions with individuals and organizations that can identify with the Foundation's goals regarding the support of specific projects.

Interested visitors to the foundation's website are cordially invited to contribute to the yearbook. The yearbook will be published in the spring of each year under a specific theme, which will be announced here. Each issue will feature contributions from seven authors.

  1. The foundation, called the "Peter Gerdsen Foundation," is a non-legal, fiduciary foundation.

  2. The foundation is politically, ethnically and religiously neutral.

Financing of the Foundation

§10 of the statutes: Financing of activities

  1. The basic financing results from the income from the assets.

  2. In addition, the foundation attempts to generate income through participation fees when organizing seminars and training courses.

  3. We continue to try to raise funds, voluntary contributions and donations.

  4. In addition, attempts are being made to persuade institutions committed to democracy and the principles of interculturality and interreligiosity to finance personnel expenses.

  5. The foundation's funds may only be used for the purposes stated in its statutes. Liabilities may only be incurred up to the amount of available funds.
